Privacy policy
This is a starter policy — please review it with your legal adviser before launch.
Who we are
Kwantu builds and runs management-information systems for social programmes. This policy explains how we handle personal information on this website, in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect, and why
- Enquiries. When you use our contact form we collect your name, organisation, email address and message, so we can respond to you.
- Analytics. We use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It does not track you across sites or build a profile of you, and it does not require a consent banner.
- Server logs. Our hosting keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and working.
How we use it
We use this information only to respond to enquiries, to operate and improve the site, and to keep it secure. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers that help us run the site and our email (for example our hosting provider), and only as needed to provide those services. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Where it is kept
Site data is hosted in South Africa. Where a provider processes data elsewhere, we take reasonable steps to ensure a comparable level of protection.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete them.
Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@kwantu.net. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
